Harvest Festival and Smoke-Free Pumpkins

“Come celebrate the end of our Farmer’s Market with ANC’s first annual Harvest Festival and Smoke-Free Home Pumpkin Giveaway on Wednesday, October 27 from 4:30-7:30 PM on the 300 block of Allen Street (at Kalamazoo). The festival will feature a Farmer’s market, local food vendors, music, crafts, a pumpkin-carving contest, and activities for kids. Those interested in participating in the pumpkin carving contest can bring their pre-carved pumpkins to the festival for display. ANC’s Health Team will give away free pumpkins to the first 100 Eastside (48912 zipcode) residents to enroll or re-certify in the smoke-free home program. Each pumpkin comes equipped with a sign stating, “”I LIVE IN A SMOKE-FREE HOME!”" In addition to the festivities, the Giving Tree Farm will hold its final Community Supported Agriculture (CSA) pickup at the festival.

ANC is looking for volunteers to assist with setup and tear-down, as well as staffing the event. Setup will begin at approximately 2:00 PM. There will be a volunteer meeting at ANC on Monday, October 25 at 6:30 PM. Anyone interested in volunteering can contact Hollie or Sarah at 485-7630, or drop by the Center at 1619 E. Kalamazoo.

Special thanks to Country Mills Farms in Charlotte for their support and generous donation of pumpkins!”
