  • The National Gardening Association is a nonprofit leader in plant-based education. Their website contains articles about gardening, garden calculators, food garden guides, and much more!
  • Organic Gardening gives resources on gardening without the use of chemical pesticides. “An organic gardener strives to work in harmony with natural systems and to minimize and continually replenish any resources the garden consumes.” Organic gardening is one way to care for the environment and your health. The site includes growing guides, organic ways to deal with weeds, pests, and diseases, message boards, recipes, and more.
  • The Helpful Gardener provides gardening tips for vegetable, herb, flower, and other gardeners, along with updated features and articles.
  • Kids Gardening provides information and ideas for gardening with kids. Click on the “Family Room” for kid gardening resources for parents.
  • The American Community Gardening Association is a U.S. and Canadian nonprofit that supports urban and rural community gardens and recognizes the impact gardens have on community development. The site includes tips for urban gardeners and information on how to start a community garden.
  • The American Horticultural Therapy Association provides information about physical, psychological, and spiritual therapy through gardening. Their site also provides links to gardens nationwide that use horticultural therapy.
  • The Plant a Row for the Hungry program through the Garden Writers Association encourages people to plant an extra row in their gardens to donate to local soup kitchens and food banks.
