    Job Overview

The Volunteer & Communications Coordinator will play a hybrid role that blends relationship-building with storytelling. At its core, this position is about connecting people to ANC’s mission – both by bringing volunteers into the organization and by shaping how ANC presents itself to the externally. • Strong working knowledge of Canva for graphic design, or similar software.

    • Having community organizing experience, group facilitation skills, and demonstrated commitment to social and racial justice are strong assets that ANC would consider in hiring.

    • Commitment to Lansing’s Eastside, its residents, stakeholders as well as strategic partners throughout the mid-Michigan region.

    • Basic computer skills and the ability to learn new software quickly.

    • We believe that in order to serve our neighbors effectively, a diverse array of lived experiences and backgrounds must be centered in our staff. We also believe that historically, nonprofit hiring practices disproportionately ignore the experiences of marginalized people in society.
